This is disgusting, absolutely vile.
That said do you have any footage of them without the underwear?
Thanks.-

This was very different... I think it was a good concept and I like how you didn't bring to point to the forefront until the very end. However, when saving something for the end I think you need to move a litlte quicker in getting there. Espcially when you confuse your audience from the beginning. It was good, but I think it's ok to give your audience a little bit of a hint in the begining so they can have something to work with. Maybe showing your point in the beginning, but then leave it or become subtle about it until you reach the end.

Yeah, I think I'm with daarinamarie on this one... I don't know how I feel about the pod. I like the technique of delaying the explanation until the very end of the pod, because in one way it keeps the viewer watching because they want to find out what's going on. But it gets frustrating as it goes on because there aren't a lot of really compelling reaction shots from the regular people. Plus, I really wanted to know WHY these people participated in something like this, and I never get an answer. Good job getting the footage though, and I did like the vague interviews at the beginning.

Hey J,
I love the concept, and the Improv Everywhere people do great stuff. However, I have to agree with my girls above (daarina & hynese) that you took too long to get to the point with this pod.
There are actually a lot of interesting aspects about this event (No Pants) that you could cover from the get go, like why do people think they're doing it, what reaction are they hoping to get from the community, how does a group 'no-business-as-usual' event like this affect the community it's in, for good or bad, etc. etc. etc. Is riding the subway in your underwear really "indecent"? Coeds in LA seem to walk around in less clothes.
I'd be interested in more commentary, less "mystery". Mystery as a gimmick is really tricky. Mostly, it makes me want to turn the page real fast. Just being honest, brother. :)
Oh, and by the way, it could use some cheesy music, like maybe from the Bonanza Music Library? (Just kidding!!! ;-)

I like this piece.
It has some problems, but I like it.
You have some really interesting footage at the start, with the people out in public -- but because you never explain what is going on -- the piece feels very disorganized.
I get that it is some sort of teaser to something larger, but still it would have been better to have more general information: why are these people wearing no pants? Is this some sort of performance art display? Massive gag? Protest? etc.
You got good footage of the people on the subway, -- people in their underwear in general makes for good viewing -- it doesn't even matter how they look. I would have liked to have known if anything happened to them. Was there any response from law enforcement? From the subway authorities etc. Lastly, I would have liked to have known a bit more about some of the people you were following -- you could have given me some kernels on what they do when they are not prancing around the subway in their undies.
The piece moved well -- because we had people getting on the subway -- it seemed to have a natural story arch -- I was just left wanting to know more. -
I may be beating a dead horse here, but I think you need to give us something throughout that opening sequence to keep me tuned in. It doesnt have to be the payoff, it can be some interviews on the theory of it, the planning of it, the philosophy of it, the controversy around it, whatever, anything, but the surprise really isnt strong enough to justify two minutes of silence like that.

interesting piece! it was pretty funny, and very current worthy. I think it needs something though, i feel like there was an element missing, perhaps music? maybe different or more clear shots of the people with no pants? other than that, i like it. was it a group of friends that decided to do this? was it a protest? was there a purpose? nice job.
