and Facebook ain't all that. What! Apparently Facebook is all hype. It's gotten a lot of press lately but that has not turned into huge growth in the social network market share among US users. Myspace still has 72.32% of US visits (hitwise) and Facebook just has over 16%.
While Facebook is growing rapidly (Myspace is keeping up), it's not just Facebook that is growing. The whole social network sector is growing too. "Though trailing in the distance of the big two, market share percentages have held steady or grown for the next services in line as well: Bebo, BlackPlanet, ClubPenguin, GaiaOnline, MyYearbook and Hi5 have unchanged or increased marketshare numbers according to the same metric."
I still heart Myspace! It was my first love. Where do you socially network?

Dood, i'm barely on the myspace anymore. My friendster has gone untouched for months me thinks. but facebook, i'm there multiple times a day trying to get my Scrabulous on and what not. holla!

HELL YEAH!
had friendster first, but don't go on it anymore because i left it for myspace and i haven't cheated on it since =)
but really, i'm over social networking via the internet. nothing beats face to face interactions! -
i socially network in the real world

I think since facebook started out by only being open to college students, it didn't see the numbers that myspace had due to more people being able to join myspace at that early time. Now they're growing at the same rate, but myspace already had a big base of people to start with before facebook was open to everyone. I think it will be hard for facebook to "catch up" because they started too far behind.

Myspace is the only account I have. Well, I have one for deviantART too (not sure if it counts or not). I never bothered with any others. There's no point in being registered with 5 or 6 other sites when they all basically do the same thing.

The way I see it, MySpace reached a much larger basis when it opened (as someone said in another comment because Facebook limited it's census to only college students). Anyways, Facebook had all the cool, modern looks to it and a lot more up-to-date interface options compared to MySpace about a year ago; but now MySpace has added things like Friend Status and Friend Updates, things that Facebook used to distinguish Facebook.
