Christina Heller, our Resident CJ in Manchester knows the law of the local land. So no matter who you think you are, or what your polls might say, if you run two hours late, not even a super star candidate can win over the discerning tastes of New Hampshire voters..

This spot really trivialized the dynamics of the primary campaign. Unless I'm missing some humor here the sense of entitlement from the narrator as well as the McCain convert was offensive.

what's wrong with people? i don't get why that woman would change her vote based on whether or not someone is punctual, punctuality has nothing to do with political platforms. neither does personal integrity or what a candidate says. it's simply a matter of stance on and actions on a political issue. America's obsession with having a presidential candidate be a symbolic reflection of an idealized personality needs to end. fantasies of political figures have no place in the political process. people are voting for fantasies they've created based on media interpretation and presentation, not on the issues.

I laughed.

Let me get this right, you're not voting for someone because they're late to an event, people like that should just stay at home on election day.

In defense of the woman I interviewed, she did have other reasons for deciding to go McCain. In addition, I thought there was something powerful about the way she noted that McCain "handed me the mic." In this day, candidates should be handing the microphone to the people, listening to what the individual has to say. Our individual voices are more powerful than ever (just look at this forum)!
This was in stark contrast to Obama, who took no questions, despite calling the event a "Meet and Greet."
Just sayin'.-

The feel good microphone moment notwithstanding the thrust of the piece was still "running late". This addendum only underscores the weakness of that theme. And really this sort of "microphone" access is style over substance. A glib, perhaps good looking politician whose chief claim to fame is making the trains run on time and winning votes by appearing to listen would meet this standard as well.
