The other oil shock: Vegetable oil prices soar

Image...
Rising prices for cooking oil in India are forcing residents of Mumbai to ration every drop. Bakeries in the United States are fretting over higher shortening costs. And here in Malaysia, brand-new factories built to convert vegetable oil into diesel for trucks sit idle, their owners unable to afford the raw material.

These are the growing pains we have to go through to kick oil. It is sad when anyone suffers for sure, but sometimes necessary for progress.

The solution is biodiesel from algae. Higher demand for oil will drive the technology to the forefront, and food will go back to normal, I pray...

This is the case with all oils. As the oil is used more and runs out and plastic or oil dependant company will HAVE to increase their price.

I have written about Petrol and desiel in a post.
