CNN's Jack Cafferty thinks that if the race stays as close as it is for Clinton and Obama that it is possible for them to split the delegates. If that happens, Cafferty says that there may be room for Gore to step in and take the nomination, considering that Gore has not ruled running for President out entirely.

Now wouldn't that be a kick!
-
If he would I would take back everything I said about his not having any real courage, and work my whatchamadoodle off trying to help him get elected. Edwards would make a perfect running mate (or Oprah, then we could elect a woman, a person of color, plus Al). Edwards still could be head of HHS or Attorney General or whatever. I'm not going to hold my breath because I might die or something, but I might die or something anyway if Gore or Edwards doesn't get the nomination. It doesn't hurt to dream....or have an ounce of hope left for the Left. Another benefit would be keeping Obama and Clinton in the Senate because I think they are still rehabilitatable.

Al Gore/John Edwards! We could have sixteen years of repair and rebuilding. Maybe even the high speed trains we and our environment so badly need. Think how nice all of that would be for us our environment and economy.

Gore 2008 is a heart warming thought.
-
I woke up this morning thinking "Cafferty is crazy; no way that could happen"...but it is still more fun to dream and hope than crawl into a dark corner and chew on my fist (which I've been thinking a lot about doing lately too).

Yes, because he sure isn't appreciated on the whole by the MSM and many others it seems for all of the great work he is now doing on this crisis and so much more that will define this generation which he can now devote all of his time to which he wasn't allowed to do stuck in that system for thirty years. So let's push him into it again to have to go through that crap all over again. And of course, the MSM and I would suspect some out here are getting bored with the current crop because they squeezed out all of the pettiness, hatred, and bickering they could... so of course, they would just LOVE to have Al Gore as a target again to bring out some more and really divert him off his chosen path. They would just LOVE to see a knock down bloodletting bare knuckles fight between him and Bill Clinton to get their ratings up and make it "interesting". Frankly, they make me sick. It is amazing to me how this man could win the Nobel Peace Prize and that is still not mentioned by so many when talking about him. He sits in Davos for an hour workshop on climate change and global poverty, and still all people want to talk about regarding him is the "horserace" that he is not even part of rather than the pressing crisis we face. Did Jack Cafferty happen to mention the campaign that he IS launcing this next month through The Aliance for Climate Protection? Of course not, because that just isn't important or sexy enough. I am not in the least bit interested in seeing him have to go through all of that crap again especially when he has even stated truthfully that the people of this country are not at the place where they should be to demand that climate change be the primary issue it should be, which we are seeing up close and personal in this campaign that is not... MAINLY because of people not talking about it loudly enough still. And if he made it the center of his platform in any political campaign now he would be dismissed just like John Edwards because he would be in the same system. Why people don't get that I will never understand. But hey, the pundits who are now just looking for some red meat to keep people watching will pull whatever they can out the hat as long as it doesn't entail actually DISCUSSING CLIMATE CHANGE. The American people on the whole are still as apathetic and this system is still as corrupted as it was in 2000. But that doesn't matter to those like Jack Cafferty and others in the media who simply want a show.

Al Gore being the Dem's Candidate would be the best thing for the country. I don't see Obama being a unifying character as he's being made out to be by Chris Matthews of Hardball and some other pundits. Al Gore is the real deal, and I wish this were true. Leadership with conviction, Change with results, Experiance that we can all trust. Al Gore 2008. Not just a speech, but a real Champion for the American people.

I'm starting to actually dislike Obama. It's not even his fault. I just know that he is not even half as good as Edwards and he will probably get the nomination because the media wants him. He can't win against poor old beat up John McCain. Before they get finished there will be no world for Al to save. Drats.

I would LOVE IT if Al endorsed Barack Obama and stumped for him, and even considered running as his running mate.
I know I originally thought if the other way around: Gore/Obama 08. But if Gore doesn't want to get in until
late and wants to run as VP -- who could stop that ticket? Really...it would be a landslide.
AND, Al Gore would have the power and influence and platform to seriously, crucially address the problems of climate change once and for all!-

Actually, obsessing over his weight is what's stupid. He looks good to me and it's actually no one's business how much he weighs regardless of what he does with his life.

Jan, I mean change within our government, the EPA, etc. Of course this is a platform. But getting the oil companies' sticky hands out of our government, the lobbyists, the special interests, the corrupt 'think tanks', etc. --- combatting all of these internal forces is what I meant to focus on.
Did you know that by 2020, Germany will get 30% of it's power from solar panels? I saw that on PBS. Mainly because the German government is so active in promoting the progressive policies (citizens also make money by selling excess energy back to the power company) Less than 1% of our energy comes from solar. If Germany can do it, so can we.
Yes We Can! Obama 08!-

Obama can't do it with liquid coal and nuclear energy. Two of the biggest energy lobbies in Dc.

I feel like he is just as inspiring as Obama, he just won a nobel prize for pete's sake, but in a way, maybe he will have more power and make more change outside of the system? I still would vote for him but once someone is elected, how much can they really do without becoming indebted to the people whose money helped them get elected in the first place?
-
I don't think Gore would run. I'm sure he could see how stepping into the 2008 election would create divisions in the party and hurt democrats in the election. Everyone should be pushing for party unity. I wish Obama and Hillary could see how important it is to work together for the ultimate goal... putting a democrat in the white house not the nomination.
