  • Check out this amazing pod, in which VC2 producer Alexis Williams expresses arrestingly what it means to be a mixed race African American.

  • I thought this pod worked really well. Though some people may not be able to relate to Micho as a biracial person, the development of his character and a strong background was given to help us relate or understand him a little better. It was a nice touch to show the journey of self-discovery while traveling to see, Rosa, who was a major contribution to the civil rights movement. The information given about the census bureau was a nice touch. I think it would have enhanced the pod if it closed out with something that brought the two subjects together again, making for a complete 360.

  • Nice pod, thank you. I am of mixed race. My mother is arab and my father is white. As far as I know "arab" is not considered a separate race, so I just put down white. I completely relate to him not wanting to leave out half of his heritage.

  • Great pod! I loved it when he said, "There's not a mixed race category in this country. If you're at all black, you're black." That's something that I've talked to my cousins about a lot. They've always said that it's harder for them to identify with the white side of their racial heritage because they're more easily accepted as black. I liked that the pod showed the physical journey he went on to pay his respects to Rosa Parks along with the emotional journey of what it meant to him. I'm not so sure about the ending...I'd like to see it wrapped up in a way that brings the two together instead of him just talking about her legacy. I enjoyed this... good pod!
