Travel with Rico to the Brazilian town of Ouro Preto in this episode of Globe Patrol. Rico goes back through the streets of this small Brazilian city that he visited as a young boy. Ouro Preto, which means "black gold", was originally a mining town that is set into the Brazilian mountainside. A sad history somehow finds its way into this town’s façade of serene spirit.

  • I always wanted to go to Ouro Preto. Not only because of the architecture, but to see the effects of colonial mining that remain today, particularly in Brasil. I have always been fascinated by pics of the Ouro Preto... Thanks for taking me there to see exactly what I wanted to see. I cannot wait to see it myself.
