Longitude's work in Ghana starts with Meshach Bondzie who began his non-profit secretarial school called PROFESA in Abeka, Ghana in 2000 because too many young adults in his community were forced to drop out of high school due to the rising cost of school fees.
LONGITUDE is a non-profit organization based in Providence, Rhode Island, devoted to supporting the work of PROFESA and thereby improving the lives of their clients. We are dedicated to the work of these leaders of educational and human rights initiatives in the hopes of achieving change from within the community.

you have to admire the teacher here trying there best to guid african youths to make a differnce ,, in america the a.d.d side of us would just ignore it as a nother anti smoking add but there tryng to hard there just to remind them that theres only one way to survive! im appluading
them in my mind. becouse thats what its all about (positive thinking) specialy in africa -
Great piece of work in showing how one mentor/teacher can change the status quo of society. The piece does not establish a specific conflict and so at times, the documentary seems more like a profile of Meshach rather than an examination of the renewed livelihood of Ghanaian youth. Meshach is certainly an inspirational figure, but the impact of the film might be stronger if we're able to see how the secretarial students feel about PROFESA and/or how different their lives are now with education from PROFESA. Still, it's a great inspirational piece about teaching and humanitarian aids.

Wow Meshach!!! THANK YOU, for your beautiful soul and heart in helping your own people and thank you DEVLOMEDIA for sharing his story.
I do agree totally with MickeyLin as far as this piece being totally about the character. It's a profile piece about Meshach, which is ok by me, because you certainly found a very interesting person. But it would be good to have a bit more background information as for why those kids have to work (yup.... state the obvious!) and maybe hear some bits from his students.
But all in all it's a fantastic piece! Which has a great message of hope. It's good to see pods like that coming out of Africa!
Thank you!
