  • So my X use to love to test his survival skills but mostly sticks to freezing cold mountain tops. This was not only interesting but intriguing since your not obsessed with survival just interested to see how your life has or has not prepared your for a possibility of life without civilization. I think if more people learned to survive without society we all would appreciate it a lot more and make it a more efficient enjoyable and appreciated existance. Tho Im an idealist from California....

  • Not bad but there were at least 2 other ways he could have tried to make fire. and i hope some one told him not to consume more than 3 coconuts a day. and i bet the keyhole limpets(slimythings he ate) would tase better soaked in some water w/the sugar cane. and the crabs cant get you as easily if you make a raised bed. how much did he get paid to do this? he is lucky he was on a nice warm island too.

  • I enjoyed this pod for the most part despite his little bout of singing at the end, but I think it was foolish of him to strand himself on that island. However if he has any more survival experience than watching <i> Survivorman, </i> I stand corrected. Nice job regardless! (:

  • Reminds me of Chris McCandless, from Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer. But the difference is this man is, as I quote RichLikesJuice, "foolish." He puts the people who chose to live this way to shame, like McCandless. McCandless isolated himself and lived off the land to find the meaning of life and true happiness while Survivorman, simply put, wants to prove to everybody he can defy death. Unfortunately, those like McCandless die right before they find happiness in their lives. I'm not saying Survivorman should have died. I'm saying it was stupid he'd risk his life like that just so he can call himself, "Survivorman."

  • I thought he did a great job. Its hard to be BY YOURSELF on an Island. It is incredible disheartening to be alone. You don't want to do anything. Great video though and it looked like you were having fun by your enthusiastic songs. But i imagine your like that in all aspects of life. I hope this doesn't discourage you from other Island travels.
