Remember the post-9/11 AdCouncil campaign with an array of people declaring, "I am an American"? Touching, but kinda contrived. This new series of films, posted via Open Democracy, gets more in-depth with a range of views on what it means to be an American and citizenship.

Or at least that's what I get out of them---the complexity of nationhood in the face of dramatically shifting social, political, and historical dynamics.
