The War on Scientology - anonymous' latest video

They're at it again, and this time they are having a stab at the media's under-reporting of Scientology's cult like behavior. Despite this impressive video, it looks like 711chan.org (the people expected to be behind anonymous) has been hacked and mocked by a competing hacker group.

Despite this, many sensitive documents have been leaked since Anonymous released their original "war on scientology" video, including the full length Tom Cruise video, and many sensitive and bizarre scientology documents. They have been posted on media fire for all to download, so if you're interested get downloading and then tell us all what you find.

On a lighter note, a Scientology whistleblower has just received a death threat.

Yeah for Anonymous - We are legion!

    I love that line.....

I should write a story about my first encounter with Jehovah's Witnesses and when I went and took their "personality profile" back in the 80's. I had two friends who had become members and it wasn't six months that they were involved that we suddenly and without any notice lost contact, not before I heard that they had coughed up some $30K for "auditing treatments".

I have never heard from my friends again. Never.

Scientology is a menacing corporation disguised as a religion.

Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of true freedom.

    Demand freedom from all oppression.

It's been less than a week and already the Anonymous approach is wearisome. The moody, apocolyptic videos, the 'edgy' vocoder use... it all comes across as an angry 14-year-old Stephen Hawking going through puberty. It's an admirable enough cause but the way they're going about it is irritating. They're far too self important and should throw their Matrix DVDs away and start again.

They've got some good press so far but they've already managed to hack the wrong site (a random school's website) and get shown up by another group of long leather coat-wearing, greasy-skinned hackers.

A part of me does hope only ten of them turn up on Feb 10th and shuffle awkwardly around in masks.

You know I have been staring to come to a similar conclusion. This anonymous thing is starting to sound like "we are the Borg, you will be assimilated, resistance is futile."

Although they did some changes in the video on the last one with the motorcycle mask.

Have you seen the BBC documentary on the Church?

The imagery in this video is great. However, the voice over is really quite menacing. It sounds like a ransom call.

To Anonymous: Just make sure that you don't use violence and allow them to be martyrs.

The actions of Anonymous have all the marks of a juvenile tantrum.
Everyone should object to these tactics. If you encourage anonymous hacking and DDOS attacks don't be too surprised when some day those tactics get used against you.
If someone has a problem with Scientology or anything they should state the problem in specific terms that could be addressed. Not anonymously ranting and not illegal hacking.

We've checked the links above our virus scanners didn't detect anything.

Needless to say, if anyone is in any doubt, there's no harm in erring on the side of caution.

    1. STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER

    2. Install firefox and adblocker

    3. Consider staying away from a computer until you're more comfortable with the Internet.

Dude I have been on the internet since it started. I am not a newbie by any means. I use firefox exclusively. Internet explorer has a mind of its own and I have completely locked it down with my firewall.

I have isolated the problem to a video codec installer that was attached to one of the video summary pages that one of the links takes you to. When you try to watch the videos it wants to install a video codec and that is when it gets you.

It installed something called deuscleaner. I have been reading up on removing this but it is not easily removed. I am working on it.

I have never had any problems with Firefox or Adblocker, but this bug is something that attacks Microsoft and puts things into your registry. I have removed all the ones I can find reference to, but the problem persists. I will over come it.

My apologies to ablenton, I feel so terribly stupid. It wasn't your link.

It was J_Current link to the http://grinding.be/2008/01/27/lulz/ ther is a link that says someone else, possibly, created an info-dump of all things Anonymous related on the web:

    http://newstoreinfo.com/?p=176

This is the page. So sincere apologies to ablenton for maligning his links. It was 2am my time when this all went down and I was exhausted, I know it is no excuse for being so stupid and blaming your links. So Sorry!!

Scientology is stupid; L. Ron Hubbard was a fictional writer. It is not a religion but a cult.

He said himself “Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion. "

    Project Chanology will succeed.

yeah - ya know...i'm of mixed feelings on this issue. True - anonymous has been really annoying about the whole thing, but typically - that group (or one by an identical name) just spent their time destroying peoples lives by hacking into high schoolers computers and removing files or screwing up school information or spamming other kids with hate filled nonsense...

at least now they're tackling something that should be harassed....I mean - we have the freedom to choose a religion - and people can believe what they want...But Scientology - that should just be considered a cult. It is a cult, fits the bill exactly. So if people want to join, fine - just don't call it a religion.

ok the first time i heard about anonymous was on a fox news bullion where fox was saying they were some sort or terrorist hacker groups who was out to destroy society and crate a new realm of anarchy. now they say they are trying to protect people's rights. really i think that anonymous is, in a way, just that. some name that anyone or group of people can use and pretend they are orginised and scare the misinformed. in essence i think it is just be a bunch of bull shit. but people are still jumping on the band wagon so good luck to both sides, i guess.

so is there any extreme vigilante work being done to support Anonymous' power? hire some ex-cons, then they know you're serious....

man this is like one of those brave new world future politics novels.
