As an avid nature nut, I can't believe we haven't heard more on this monster. A half-ton example, of a relative of the giant squid, was caught near New Zealand in February of 2007. Named the Colossal Squid, it it currently the largest known species of squid in the world. I found this information very interesting, and thought it would have been more publicised than it was. Oh well,I just thought it would be appreciated by those who had not previously heard this story. Enjoy.

wow... as a duel citese of new zealan i have offically shat my self. that thing is huge! it puts the japan giant squid documentary to a little lesss then shame

At 40+ feet long, what really freaks me out about this squid is that it has swiveling hooks instead of suckers. Check them out and the damage they did on this Sperm whale.
