Laid-back businessman conducting business over his cell-phone in Geneva, Switzerland (quality final product with music, the previous one I uploaded was a "rough sketch", so to speak).

Every winter in Geneva, the municipality installs a small free open-air skating rink for the enjoyment of the population. When I walked past it, I noticed this businessman in a beautiful and very expensive camel-hair coat who was skating all by himself on the rink - I couldn't resist! I call this a "snapvid" (as in "snapshot"), a word I have recently coined. The music is "Drifting Thoughts" (Epping/Newman) from the Current APM Music Library.

  • Oh dear, current's processing has distorted it. I will delete it and try another format - sorry about that.

  • Even with the distortion, Vierotchka, it's a lovely meditation on business and beauty, ease and enterprise.
Thanks. A gentle way to start the day.

  • You are such an interesting woman. Like so many things in life, the best often comes when lest expected. It was a wonderful, sensitive, surreal moment under the cloudy Geneva sky. A little sad, also. I am reminded of Thoreau's words about all of us living lives of quiet desperation. Your eye, and your talent, are very special.

  • Vierotchka thank you for sending me the link to come back and check out the reedit with the music you selected. I love your choice of music. The only suggestion I have is that perhaps the signal level on the sound is maxed out and perhaps if you take it down a few dB's it would be a lot better. At normal volumes I am hearing a tiny bit of distortion and crackle which indicates that signal might be peaking in spots. Just a suggestion....

    Otherwise, bravo!

And I agree with caothlodge, you are such an interesting person and I am glad to know you, if anything via this forum.

    Peace

  • Very serene. I love this style; "snapvid." It allows you to know the subject without any interaction. Definitely continue doing stuff like this. I recommend trying it in Quebec City if your ever around. Very interesting people there...

  • Other than loving the word snapvid, it was a beautiful video, its something i would never see in my little corner of the world. A very nice sharp contrast to the business men and women i tend to see daily.

  • Vive Geneve! Merci pour ces jolies images.
  • That was lovely. You don't see many scenes as serene and laid back as that anymore.

  • What? No Jump Cuts or shaky camera angles? :)

    Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Throw an apple logo on the end and it could sell i-phones (just a thought). Good job.
