It is nothing but a joke. People standing there clapping and cheering a war criminal and a liar. And John Edwards gets it. At least he is still getting some coverage out here. Looking forward to voting for him in my primary next week.

Be sure to watch the HBO documentary tomorow night "Baghdad Hospital: Inside the Red Zone" and keep in mind while viewing it what the President said tonight in his State of the U about how much the Iraqis love us being there, realize we are helping them, and want us to stay there until all the terroriists are gone and justice has prevailed.
-
Is that why McCain wants us to stay for a hundred years?

I love John Edwards.
But I think he needs to get out of the race on Friday, and endorse Barack Obama. Before Super Tuesday...
Think, imagine an Obama/Edwards ticket!
Obama 08!-

robertforchange: pardon my bluntness, but bullshit. Barack Obama is nothing but a player to me. Anyone from the "establishment" that endorses him makes that more apparent, and I think Ted Kennedy only endorsed him because he wanted to get in the news and he is also opening up some sort of rivalry with the "Clinton machine" as the media is playing it up. Good way to stay on talking about Issues... not. That's why endorsements in general mean nothing to me, and I don't care if Jesus himself comes back to Earth to endorse Obama, John Edwards is the best candidate out of all of them and I hope he stays until convention making sure that his message is heard. And no one should think they have the audacity and arrogance to tell any candidate to get out or tell his supporters the same. There is no way I am supporting liquid coal Obama, because I don't trust him and the more I see of him the more I believe he is just a suit playing a part to get votes. I also don't trust Hillary Clinton, so my choice is clear and I'm happy Mr. Edwards is in this, or I wouldn't be. If it were not for him still a candidate in this I would be sitting this entire process out. I am tired of the "Obama worship" already and tired of the political wars and rivlaries that these so called "endorsements" are all about. If Clinton and Obama want change they are also in the best position now to bring it. Where is it? Why aren't they calling for Bush's impeachment from the floor of the Senate then? They all sit and clap and smile and pat him on the back after all he did? It is unconscienable to me and makes my skin crawl, and Obama is no better than the rest of them. So I'm sticking with John Edwards for the long haul. And on a note regarding the SOTU address and Bush's lies, he guises his true purposes for taking more money for their empire grab by pledging that the troops will have all they need. How Americans on the whole can be so complacent about it all makes me sick. And one final note on the responses to the SOTU by Democrats. I hope that at least one year they can find a Democrat with a pulse to deliver the response. I fell asleep during last night's. Again, it is all a very sick joke and as long as Obama puts out his hand an smiles at Bush, he is just a player like all the rest.

Jan, You are the very best. It is beginning to bother me that People are voting for a "Woman" or a "Black Man." How stupid are we. They don't have to have a platform all they have to do is flex the gender or color and the sheep line up to vote for them. What about a decent original health plan? What about a serious plan for the mess in Iraq? What about a plan for our economy and poverty? Edwards came from the middle class and he understands ordinary people. He is the only one that supports the average working man and is very pro union. He knows that the stupid trade agreements are the reason our jobs are leaving. He knows they need a radical fix or to be abandoned. What exactly do the others have in mind for us? The status quo, that's what. They are Republican Light.

Florida votes today and I was one of the first at the polls and voted for Edwards. Edwards will be my choice until he says otherwise. I didn't watch Bush's State of the Union address - figured we pretty much know what the state of the union is without any more BS.
-
Marilynn, well I get it: You don't like Obama. Fine, you're entitled to that view for whatever reason. But I think you're overstating and misrepresenting him.
I just don't think Edwards has much more to offer America than anger towards the mighty rich right now. "This was a fight I was born for!", I believe him, I believe in his message but it's NOT ENOUGH for me.
By the way, don't you think it's selective attention on your part to be calling Obama such a hypocrite, when, John Edwards is a multimillionaire lawyer "fighting for the lower/middle class"? Again, I like Edwards, but I find that aspect of his persona off-putting. At least Obama's net worth was less then $1 million dollars before he got into this race.-

robertforchange: I think you're missing the point. John Edwards didn't start life rich and whatever money he earned he worked for. Why is it not okay for a millionaire to fight for the lower/middle class? Why would that put you off? All of the candidates have to be millionaires pretty much to run - unfair but true. He's not angry at the rich, he's angry that rich corporation's that lobby our representatives and decide our laws. He's angry at the oil companies who have prevented us from seeking other energy alternatives; the insurance companies for keeping the average person so they can't afford health insurance, and on and on. It's been going on for years and in my opinion is the main reason we've lost our voice in this country. Based on your logic, should we vote for the person who had the least money when they entered the Presidential race? Obama is an incredible orator and gives hope to those who hear him, this is true. But is that what we're looking for? Just asking.
-
Chique: Why is it not ok for someone who was born a millionaire to want to fight for the middle class? Why is childhood poverty a prerequisite for the Presidency? For that matter, why is anyone's childhood a prerequisite for the Presidency no matter their class? I want to know what they did as adults....not what their class status was growing up. I just don't get this when people bring it up. Every generation grows up in a different time, with different concerns and someone from the poor or middle class of yore has no more understanding of today's class of equal standing than a millionaire from the past has of millionaires today. The whole argument is flawed and just plain divisive. It's like saying people with no kids have no understanding of childhood or parenthood. Nonsense! This country needs to stop focusing so much on the past and on class.

Edwards is the only Democrat in the running that the polls show can beat all the Republican candidates.
He is also, speaking clearly, plainly, and is right. Stop the lobbists, and help the middle class. He was born poor, and earned everything he has. He was middle class.
What people forget is that the middle class carries the burden of most of the taxes. The rich have loopholes, and breaks, and the poor have programs to lend an assist. Someone needs to look out for the middle class.
Also, he understand the heath care system, and has been through it. His program is realistic doable.
Edwards needs all the support he can get.. he NEEDS to win. We NEED him as our next president.-

NYTheatrebug, Absolutely right. I'm going to do everything I can to promote him. I'll send a bit more money. I might even light a candle. I have hope that he will do better on the West coast.

Sadly, he could not keep up with the amount of money corporations were spending on Obama and Clinton.
A worthy and sincere advocate for ordinary Americans is gone.
Corporate fascism is now free to march unimpeded into the White House.-
