Human tongue in hospital canteen sparks tongue 'wagging'

A hospital canteen in Slovenia is under investigation after a piece of human tongue was served to a doctor in his chicken risotto.

The small town hospital in Izola, southern Slovenia, has been closed by health and hygiene officials who are now looking into how the rogue piece of 'meat' made it into the 'special of the day.'

The doctor who found the tongue in his food argued with canteen staff that the offending meat was definitely not chicken and looked more like the remains of a human tongue, after the 'specimen' was sent for tests, his predictions were spot on.

The source of the rogue bit of tongue is still unknown, but a hospital spokesperson has said "I can say clearly that we have never used patients' parts in any of our dishes."

    I love how the doctor knew it was a human tongue, of all things. I'd have presumed it was gristle and got stuck in most likely.

    Is it just me, or is does it sound like the hospital spokesperson doth protest too much?*

    Whose bifurcated tongue is that in the picture? I'm more curious about that story than the oh-so-commonplace body-parts-in-the-soup one. At least it happened in Slovenia and not Pittsburg.

    Haham yea me too julie! But that is actually quite gross! I think i'd actually be sick if i found a tounge in my lunch lol. Eugh!!
