One woman undertook an experiment to find out if men preferred curly or straight hair.

Interesting article--I was surprised how many people weren't phased by her curly look. Maybe I should ditch the flat iron after all...

  • It would seem the curly hair caused the camera to over-expose and increased the contrast ratio, whereas the straight hair allowed the camera to record warmer skin tones without blowing out (over-exposing anywhere but for her nose) and a more natural contrast ratio.

    For that reason, I'd have to pick the straight hair.

  • if your hair is naturally curly wear it and wear well! speaking on behalf of all men, we really don't care...we are tired of you ladies making us late for dinner, movie and or a party because you are spending hours with your straightener! we think you are beautiful! if you are a woman with naturally straight hair, get a perm! you will spend less time in the mirror and more time with that certain someone!!

  • I tried a similar experiment last year. I'm a natural brunette with blue eyes, but last summer I decided I wanted a change so I went platinum blond.

    I'm now back to being brunette. I feel like I received more male attention as a blond. The difference isn't extreme, but I feel like it was notable.

    Too bad I don't have any data to prove it, haha.

    1. how cool you are
    2. how smart you are
    3. how cute you are

    articles like that offend my intelligence.

    (but I do have to admit to reading it through!)

  • I agree that hair probably matters less Saskia--but it's interesting, because I think curly hair can be such an issue. I've had so many people tell me I should straighten my hair before job interviews or things like that--apparently you're not taken seriously with curls? Crazy things like that.

  • Curls are sexy, but then again so is straight hair. While I prefer curls I wouldn't discriminate based on hair. There are so many other contributing factors that make up the connection and attraction felt towards another person. Overall, the person whose head the hair is attached to is far more intriguing than the hair itself.
