A 51 year old Wisconsin woman called 911 and then hung up. When the dispatcher called back the woman explained that her passenger/boyfriend had told her to call because he felt she was too drunk to drive. The woman explained that he was the drunk one and gave the dispatcher a description of her vehicle along with her address. She then explained the dispatcher that she had to go because she doesn’t like talking on her cell phone while driving.
As you can imagine a couple of officers were waiting on her doorstep when she pulled in. After being questioned by the officers she admitted that she had drank “about a six pack”.

I'm so glad a drunk driving story has been listed under humor... drunk driving is just a big joke to everyone isn't it?
-
dbocaz;
It's humorous.
I don't think drunk driving in general is a joke at all; I don't think anyone really does.
But, in this particular incident, no one got hurt, and the drunk driver pretty much did herself in legally.
Generalizations are no fun.
Laughing is. It's a good thing to do whenever possible. -
Actually I think a lot of people think it's funny and don't take drunk driving seriously. It really bothers me how Current TV has decided to make 911 calls into jokes. The last one made it on tv. Current TV seems more interested in making jokes about dumb cops and drunk drivers than trying to take a stand and do something about these problems. Sure, they love to talk about the environment and saving the Earth, but let's make light of major social problems like drunk driving and substance abuse. Or let's have lots of videos with sexy girls... we don't care about how we view women either. Al Gore should be proud of what Current's becoming.

dbocaz,
I respect your opinion on how drunk driving is obviously no laughing matter - and it isn't as I personally know what it's like to have a friend be the victim of a drunk driving accident. But this story is funny. So they classified it under humor...
If you want to complain about the articles on Current, saying that you think we should be discussing some more important topics of discussion - add some articles yourself.
The problem with people today is everyone loves to complain. Everyone loves to say that what they have isn't good enough and I think by now everyone else is just sick and tired of hearing about it.
I don't know if you've ever seen it - but there's a "Add Something New" button at the top of the page where you can submit your own article! Wow, huh!?
All I'm saying is - I know there are a lot of people, like you (and me for that matter), who wish they could discuss some of the more central issues of our country on Current and that's fine. But be PROACTIVE. This site WILL turn into youtube if everyone adds bogus stories - so add something worth reading.
And - no one forces you to read any of these articles - so if you don't like one - don't comment on it. No one wants to read complaints. Complaints don't lead to discussion. -
I do try to contribute... do a search on dbocaz... and that's what I'm doing here too. Making myself heard.
We're also working on creating a festival called the Change the World festival... http://www.changetheworldfestival.com
We also do substance abuse campaigns... http://myspace.com/ciboladwi
This wouldn't have bothered me as much if it hadn't been Current TV staff that posted it. It seems Current TV is after ratings and not social justice. I just want Current TV to take a look at their mission statement and think about what they're doing. Do they want to be another youtube or Spike TV? I was hoping Current TV could be something that rose above the crap that's all over the internet and TV.
