Silencing Presidential Candidates and Condeming Women in Leadership positions

I am watching the Republican Regan Library Debate.

Ron Paul is being regularly silenced rudely by Anderson Cooper the few times he is allowed to speak. Ron Paul gets less time per question to respond and is quickly cut off, unlike all the other candidates that are allowed to ramble on without answering their questions. Ron Paul was promised time to answer questions soon, but then was never called on at least 15 minutes later.

I am not a Ron Paul supporter, but this infuriating that candidates are not getting equal time.

All four candidates condemed women in leadership positions. Specifically implying Sandra Day O'Connor, the first female Supreme Court Justice, was not conservative enough for a Republican President to nominate to the Supreme Court without condeming Ronald Regan (who nominated her).

  • I agree with you about equal time given to each candidate. It's unfair to treat some candidates different than others. If this is the way the debates are going to be run, then you might as well assume that this is all a popularity contest controlled by the media. Maybe that's a little far fetched, but I'd like to hear from Ron Paul about a lot of these issues. As a voter, I need to see all the points of view of every issue from ALL of the candidates.
  • I totally agree. While I am an independent, and had my favorite canidate. I like the debates, I want to hear what they all have to say. Not just the current front runners.

When the media marginalizes a canidate, it's an injustice to all parties.... the candidates, the people, and the parties.

As far as Ron Paul.. well he makes good points, and observations.. his solutions scared me, and seemed a little well... out there..

But at least he should be given the change to particiate in the debates.

  • All the Republicans scare me entirely and all the Democrats scare me on at least one issue each.

I watch the debates, because I have been very upset about the US's decline in the world and I want an idea about how bad it is going to continue to get.

One of the things that upsets me is the erosion of American rights by the current President and Congress.

I am looking for leadership to return those rights to the people. I see some empty promises from the Democrats on this matter and some promises to REMOVE more rights from the Republicans.

  • Agreed.. this is not one Republican in the race that doesn't scare me for our country, our rights, and our future.

I don't know what scared me more, the comment about changing the constitution to be more in keeping with God, or the the "bomb bomb bomb Iran" stunt.

As far as the two leading Democrats left.. Obama is a great speaker, but speaks nothing of substance. It's all platitudes. Hillary is Hillary, and while tough as nails... I remember all too well her faild attempt at health care. Also, she has taken too much money from PACs. So I wonder.. if she had to make a choice.. what would it be.. the majot contributor or the people.

In the end, we will have to choose the least objectable of the canidates, and hope for the best.
Which wouldnt be too bad.. in all, if the media didn't marginalize canidates in a debate, and in general coverage.

  • it is simply not fair. Ron Paul is the only Republican candiate that disagree with what has happened over the past 8 yrs. He's also the only one that recoginzes our debt and death. The other candiates just care about pride and religion. Especially that Huckabee. Just YouTube Ron Paul and take alook for yourself. He is a true Republican and never goes back on his words.
