Though we have seen so much of Britney Spears' crazy behavior over the past year; you can not ignore something is seriously wrong with America's biggest trainwreck and now neither can those closest to her including her psychiatrist.
So going willingly on advise from her psych and family, Britney Spears was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric hold early Thursday morning, after being transported by ambulance from her Studio City home around 1 a.m.
An LAPD source tells PEOPLE: "Spears was escorted by police and is on her way to get help." The singer, 26, was transported to UCLA for a 72-hour emergency hold, known as a 5150.

Funny how this one time "dish" has suddenly turned into the "package."

Latest reports said, everyone around her and Britney herself knew this was coming. I think we ALL knew this was coming.
Wondering what a 5150 is?
Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) 5150, in California, is an application for involuntary admission for up to 72 hours from the time the declaration is written. WIC 5150 is not itself a direct admission form and does not of itself authorize the involuntary admission; it merely gets the individual to the door. This is in regards to mental health evaluation.-

It is about time that something is done to stop this out of control rollercoaster that is Brittany Spears. It is horrible to think that just a few years ago she was the princess of pop, and now..... Hopefully she will be able to get her life back on to track for her sake and the sake of her children.

insane. that's a harsh tag. ha!

I can't believe it took so long for her to finally get the invite. How could people ignore that something obviously wasn't right.
I know if i saw a skinhead ex-global popstar going at a car window with an umbrella, I'd feel slightly inclined to ring the authorities. I'm gonna go put a tenner on a Winehouse and Britney rehab link up - imagine the headline possiblitie -
Here is the latest update about how Britney is doing straight from her mothers mouth. Check it out!
We are saying prayers for ya Brit!-

i am so sick about hearing about the losers of hollywood and their psuedo-dramatic lives...so the chick needs help...there are so many people who need help, who want help, but cannot get it...so for these so-called stars to fall back to eart...so be it...
on another note...it seems that celebritism is the new fad....-

true, lots of folks need help.
but this is more than just a chick, this is a chick that everyone's watching. voraciously voyeuristic, our collective curiosity in the pressures of celebrity are implicated in the unusual narrative of Britney.-

So where does the line end between feeding the machine that causes these types of breakdowns and one's perceived responsibility to report this type of 'news'?
Seems to be a lot of focus on this type of 'content' here. Sometimes I have to double check the page header to make sure I haven't accidentally stumbled on to the Access Hollywood page! -
Let's hope she does finally get out of Hollywood, and gets the R&R she needs...
