Al Qaeda's online buddy list is bigger than the Bush administration's
Glassman's comments Wednesday echoed a November speech by Defense Secretary Robert Gates in which he said the United States needs more speed, agility and cultural relevance in its communications.
"Public relations was invented in the United States, yet we are miserable at communicating to the rest of the world what we are about as a society and a culture, about freedom and democracy, about our policies and our goals," Gates said. "It is just plain embarrassing that al Qaeda is better at communicating its message on the Internet than America."

Unfamiliar with the term public diplomacy? Read the wiki. I think it's a fascinating and increasingly relevant field as our world moves online.

Our governement is gonna start putting dog tags on us...so technically we're all just cattle 2 them...*Oh but u wouldn't know them as dog tags...I mean our identification(a card currently) & medical information & criminal history & bank account & I wouldn't be suprised if it had a tracker as well...so yea...get ready 4 the future injection of these lil chips...NOT GOOD!!! & they're gonna make it seem like that's the only way 2 maintain "CONTROL"...so control will no longer be the state of ur perspective but what THEY feel u can and cannot do....meaning they'll take away our free choice and make it their choice .....LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Glassman said the United States must overturn a misconception in the Muslim world that it is a military threat, that it wants to weaken and divide the Muslim world and spread Christianity."
Is it a misconception, or hitting the nail on the head?

The headline is funny.
I thought at first that this headline was saying the Al Qaeda had a My Space page and their buddy list was bigger than Bush's buddy list.
But I see that is more of the same PR crap.

I just love the "spread democracy" theme the administration always falls back on...when they wanted banana acreage in central america...we helped "spread democarcy"...with US trained death squads. But Dole and Chiquita are doing great so that's OK, right?. Our government and corporate powers have long sought to destabilize unfreindly goverments for monetary gain under the guise of "spreading democracy" No wonder the message is ill-received. So, here's a question to think about: If you wanted to destablize a Muslim country for say 2-3 decades...how about introducing democracy? For more about our unspoken policies, check out John Perkin's book at the link below..
