  • This is cool. Me and my wife did something similar to my son a while back. He was 11 then. One Saturday morning we decided to make him think he had lost his hearing, by moving our lips and pretending to talk. Kind of like something Jack Handy would do.

  • Here's the lowdown from the night, it proved so successful that they now plan 'mobile clubbing' gigs all over the place, well London mainly, but it's a pretty big place!

From their dontstayin.com group you can find links to their next events, and don't worry if you don't think it's for you, the instructions make it clear and concise!

WALK AROUND AND GET IN TO YOUR GROOVE

    SMILE AT OTHER MOBILE CLUBBERS

    NO DANCING BEFORE 19.01

AT THE INSTANT THE CLOCK STRIKES 19.01

DANCE LIKE YOU'VE NEVER DANCED BEFORE

AND DANCE FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN

Check this link for some video of their meet at the Tate Modern!

  • WOW! Awesomeness.

Shame it would never work in London though... people would just persevere with their journey, completely deadpan and avoiding all eye contact.

  • That was a pretty cool stunt. Too bad they didn't use it to make a statement opposing the war though.

There are several ways off hand I can think to integrate an antiwar message into something like this.

such as; every five minutes of the war and occupation costs so many Iraqi lives, soldiers lives and xxxxx $$.

or 'stop, think, and realize there's still a war going on, despite the "success of the surge" and the corporate media's blackout of news from Iraq.

Or 'stop and think about the consequences of going to war in the first place' - something the Bush administration never considered.

    PEACE
    Sincerely;

  • Very cool. If I had been there in GCS, I'm sure I would have felt awkward and somewhat embarrassed as my notions of reality and accepted conformity were challenged. But I suppose that's that's the byproduct of any significant art/porformance. Very cool, entertaining editing for the video too.

  • It's been said before - but this stunt was very very cool!!!

  • I loved how many people actually noticed what was happening! Too often it seems people are just oblivious to what's going on around them. And it's great to change things up sometimes!

  • Each one of us can take 5 minutes and unite the world for any cause if it is important enough to us. Imagine us stopping for 5 minutes and thinking only "PEACE FOR HUMANITY"

Leave it to a "hippie tree hugger" like yourself to ruin a perfectly executed stunt by trying to push some anti-war message with it. Why do you people always have to try to push your liberal ideas on everyone. Just remember one thing. If the forces we are fighting in this war have their way, which they are willing to die to achieve.....
~~ Women in this country would be silenced with a veil over their face
~~ All of us would be worshiping Allah
~~ And people like you wouldn't be allowed to voice your ridiculous opinions in a forum like this or any other for that matter.
Is that a way of life you find appealing? Then move to the middle east and be everyone's savior!! I'll pay for your one way ticket.

  • I LOVE that! Total mind f*ck on a massive scale!! The brilliance lies in how they got a bunch of New Yorkers together and actually interact with each other. Total strangers start talking to one another to try and figure out what's going on.

  • Just for fun, and it was.

  • That was amazing!! I especially loved the applause at the end....it was nice to see their effort didn't go without some kind of acknowledgement from the crowd. Well done!
