I got 82, which I was pretty proud of until I saw the list of countries I forgot. Try it!

I know what you mean Sloan, I thought my 67 would get me at least a little bit of credibility, it seems not after I saw the list..
Someone must be able to get better than this...
Calling all geography graduates.... -
actually, about 75 of those 'countries' they listed aren't actually countries at all - unless you use a very, very broad definition of country! most sources will tell you there are about 194 countries. again, how you define country is key.

my link was dodgy and wasn't accepting some, like italy, for example. last time i checked it was a country. needless to say, i got 75. but what's not a country? there are some territories on there. is that what you mean?

for the sake of argument, a 'state' (a type of country) is typically defined as an independent territory with a government and a population and it has sovereignty over both.
if we use this definition, i don't see how the isle of man, jersey, and guernsey are considered countries but scotland, wales, and northern ireland aren't.
also, baker island, for example, is an uninhabited atoll. so is kingman reef - in fact, it's mostly submerged! unless the fish populations living in these coral reefs have elected a president and declared their sovereignty, i don't really see how they can be called countries. -
I got 34. I also received the title of lightwieght
