First and foremost when it comes to the issue of gun control do not insult your own intelligence by thinking that gun control is about safety. It's not. It was established to raise prices on guns. They were also established to eliminate competition in the firearms market by raising the prices on FFL's and allowing the BATF to enforce state and local statutes which are illegal for them to do. They began driving private FFL owners out of business... That's what it's all about MONEY.

Next I'll discuss the "But less guns means less crime... right?" issue.

Gun Control advocates lead you to believe that gun control = less gun crime. In actual instances Drastic Gun Control = Drastic Gun Crime Increase. Please research your own statistics. Look up Washington DC for instance.

As for the view that a automatic AK47 is more dangerous than a .22 pistol/carbine. This is QUITE untrue. Virginia Tech, the shooter had a 9mm and a .22, most of the fatal shots came from the .22.

What needs to happen.

1) Unban all weapons and ammo
2) Require all firearm owners to register their weapons legal or illegal before the previous bans.
3) Create a licensing system. A Federal Firearm Operator License. FFOL
4) Require everyone wanting to own a weapon to have a psychiatric evaluation.
-note- Psychiatric Evaluation limited to questions of citizens capacity for violence, both provoked (self defense) and unprovoked (Aggression)
A) This psychiatric evaluation is to categorize people into 5 different levels
1) This person will receive a 10 year FFOL pending Action 5
2) This person will receive a 5 year FFOL pending Action 5
3) This person will receive a 2 year FFOL pending Action 5
4) This person will receive a 1 year FFOL pending Action 5
5) This person will receive NO FFOL. Retest available in 6 months
5) Require everyone wanting to own a weapon to attend a federally funded weapon safety class
6) Create a National Concealed Carry database storing information on all concealed carry certified citizens. This certification will be based on the completion of the federally mandated weapons safety class and a 10 hour class with 5 hours classroom instruction and 5 hours range time.
7) Immediately revoke the FFOL of those accused of violent crimes at all levels, misdemeanor to felony until the expungement of the record.
8) Allow only the people earning the 5-10 year FFOL acquire Class 3 armaments. Allow those with a 2 year FFOL to acquire Class 3 armaments only on the 5th year after another psychiatric evaluation.
9) After the 10th year of being an FFOL carrying you automatically get the 10 year FFOL pending a good Psychiatric Evaluation.
