I was there that day with the vets, capturing their stories, documenting their exchange in front of News Corporation. The next day, O'Reilly had spun it to look like... well, you already know how O'Reilly rolls. Let the vets speak for themselves.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that Bill would deny this issue. But, it will not go away. We need to address these issues very soon, and documenting them, and showing them on independent networks and websites is our only hope of making sure the world is informed that these issues do exist and are being covered up. -
Honestly, I am going to say, I can see what he's 'trying' to say. There are many programs out there for veterans that many of them do not take advantage of because, yes, if for any reason, they are not mentally capable or willing to take the help.
But like my mother used to say, it's not what you say, it's how you say it. As a public figure, he should know that many are listening, many may agree, and many may disagree...strongly. In essence, he's saying, 'if you're a veteran and homeless, you must be crazy!' When he could have easily said, 'Many veterans who are homeless, may suffer from mental illness.
Now...isn't that better? -
But that's the point, Neghie -- they're mentally unable to get it together BECAUSE they are vets and lived through hell on earth. We civilians very easily forgot to fathom why they are messed up in the first place, which is what the military does NOT address when they return home.
Not to mention that many of them join to get OUT of the hood, and come back worse than before.
And lastly, it is NO SECRET that the most useless, pathetic, underfunded and bureaucratically dismal government institution is probably the VA. They get the worst doctors, the worst administrators, and the worst follow-up.
Check out the film "When I Came Home." It'll blow your mind. -
What needs to be understood is the trauma that these men and women have suffered for our country. Their thought process might not be the same as ours, and they are probably having difficulty adjusting to civilian life. You can call it crazy, or mental illness, but just like you put it, as a public figure why would you disrespect the veterans. Sometimes I think Bill goes to far, and this is one of those times. Money and Ratings are what is important in this country. Not Honor, and Dignity. God Bless every man and woman in uniform. And, I hope I am living my life as best as I can live it, to show you how grateful I am for the freedoms you fight for on my behalf. -
thanks for passing along this important video
we are on the same "wavelength"
I'm planning to do some video work documentation on veterans, particularly Vietnam Vets -
This is so sad. They, the vets, were being very respectful despite the hurtful and nasty things Billo had said about them and what did he do? More of the same the very next day.
I'd love to see a full blown protest out in front of Fixed Noise not just to serve notice to Billo and his bosses, but to bring the veterans issues to the forefront of this election. We don't just have to do something for the vets already on the streets but the ones who will be coming back facing the same problems and worse. -
I do clinicals at a VAMC and the numbers are ridiculous for homeless vets. Also remember that if there is no housing available or you dont have a physical address at that time to have info sent to or a phone number to be contacted at then you're pretty much up a creek without a paddle. This administration has abandoned the very troops it used and abused for this self indulging war that keeps fat checks in Dick and Bush's pockets as they drain it out of the American economy. He just asked for a historic trillion dollar budget. Wake up people they are robbing us blind!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't surprise me one bit he has been associated with some much negative media especially when it comes to minorities. Great that you shed more light on his ways.
