This is what has been happening outside of Berkeley's Marine Corps Recruiting Center in California for the past three months, day in, day out. The group, known as Code Pink, are trying to get the center to close and after three months graft their protest was officially recognized by the Berkeley City Council who on January the 29th gave the protest an offical stamp of approval.

The council offered Code Pink their very own parking space right outside the Marine office and even got the city manager to send a letter of disaproval to the Marines saying they were uninvited and unwelcome intruders! Federal funds have now been cut to the center - a total of $2.1 million

Who said protests never work?
