Over 11,000 trees planted in Niger

Through my petition linked, and the work of many others, Tree -Nation is planting thousands of trees in the heart of Niger to mitigate deforestation and poverty. It may not seem like much to some, but this is a very important step in bringing balance back to a country torn by drought, deforestation, poverty, and climate change. I believe wholeheartedly that from endeavors like this taken on by grassroots organizations that have a true caring for this planet will come the chance to restore some of that balance. There may not be much some can do to contribute to solving the climate crisis, or so they think. Signing this petition will help plant trees, and also it is easy to plant one yourself. Trees are the lungs of our planet and the more we plant can only do her good. I am proud to be a part of a group that is doing something positive to help not only to save Niger but our Earth.

  • That sounds like a wonderful project Jan.Trees are vitally important for our environment. They not only clean the air, They are beautiful. They will save you money by cooling your house in the summer. Plant trees with a wide top on the afternoon sun side of your house and you can cut your air conditioning costs by one-third. Be sure and get deciduous trees so that nice shady summer yard doesn't become a dreary dark yard in the winter months. Fruit trees can also make nice shade trees with a bonus of fruit.

  • It is a wonderful project, Marilyn. When I first looked at the petition and saw signatures from all over the world I was so filled up. There are many people around this world who see the urgency of this crisis and want to do right by the planet. And that is hopeful.
