This is great! I would like to see more of this preview of other artists if I had a choice. :) News is news. Finding good artists takes more skill. :)

I like Candie Payne but she sounds like somebody trying to copy that 60s sound, forty years too late. Duffy's got a rubbish name but her sound is very good and I keep skipping back to that part of the pod to hear the snippet of her song again.

Love to get the buzz from across the Atlantic, thanks for keeping it global. I also appreciate the pic of MJ.

I like the way whatever Mark Ronson touches always sounds the same (i.e like he's stolen it). The big overrated man-whore.
I also wish modern female vocalists would stop trying to sound soulful by saying "Shoobee doobie doo" all the bloody time.
Well, I'm glad I've got that off my chest. -
Soul? what does the U.K know about soul? obviously amy winehouse is trying to find it and she's lucked out with drugs. ''Soul'' or ''blues'' originated with the african american, from the southern regions of the Americas. All of these artists are lame and they've stolen or rather recycled a sound that originators such as Etta Jones, Ruth Brown, Shemekia Copeland, Ida Cox, Bessie Smith had mastered in the early 1900's,

Blues is a vocal and instrumental form of music based on the use of the blue notes. It emerged in African-American communities of the United States from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads. The use of blue notes and the prominence of call-and-response patterns in the music and lyrics are indicative of African influence. The blues influenced later American and Western popular music, as it became the roots of jazz, bluegrass, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, heavy metal, hip-hop, and other popular music forms.

Field Hollers as well as work songs were African American styles of music from before the American Civil War, this style of music is close related to spirituals in the sense that it expressed religious feelings and included subtle hints about ways of escaping slavery, among other things. Slaves in New Orleans had a field area called Congo Square in which they were allowed time on Sundays to dance and sing more freely than they could on the plantations, and these ''hipster'', I'm sure are oblivious to the harsh circumstances from under which what we know today as blues emerged.

just because amy is in rehab doesn't mean she's over..
amy, adele, duffy , and candy are all amazing at what they do. i think amy will come back stronger than before.
and i don't think that any of the other chics are taking her spot, their just making a name for themselves.-
