Imagine flying from northern Europe to Australia with 300 of your mates in under 5 hours for the price of a first class ticket. How sweet would that be! A team of scientists and engineers have designed a plane to do just that. Check out the A2, a plane designed to fly quietly and subsonically, running on liquid hyrdrogen leaving only water and nitrous oxide in its wake.

But not for the claustrophobics: there are no windows. But they can fix that with some flat screens. Yay technology! These plans are pretty amazing...

  • This is what the citizens of the EU want to spend their dosh on? I notice the throwaway comments in the article about it being noisy and possibly damaging the ozone layer. But, hey, never mind, it's go-faster and there's megabucks in it for someone.
    Makes me laugh, UK MPs rabbiting on about energy-saving light bulbs.
