Afghan President Hamid Karzai's spokesman has said the president is concerned about the death sentence received by a 23-year-old journalism student who distributed an article from the internet that raised questions about some Islamic practices. The student has appealed the verdict, so according to the spokesman, Karzai will not intervene until the courts have had their final say.
