Rambo is a badass, even in Burma. And people are risking prison to see him. Despite efforts by the Burmese authorities to ban the full version of Rambo 4, in which he rescues missionaries from the clutches of the military, reports are saying that there is an underground trade of DVDs of the downloaded version. So what's the big deal? Well, Rambo's 4th adventure was shot along the Thai-Burmese border and features him coming out of ass-kicking retirement to rescue Christian missionaries taken hostage by authorities while giving supplies to the ethnic Karen -- the longtime victims of clashes and attacks by the government troops. But it's not real... so why would they want to ban it?
"While political activists both inside and outside of Burma have celebrated the film for revealing the brutality of the junta, the Rangoon resident said that many people were confused as to whether the film was fictional or portrayed genuine events."
