Maybe she realized MTV is lame, has no soul and hasn't really been "Music Television" in a decade.
-
I don't know about you but if she helped create TRL...I have hella respect for her because when I was in high school...I lived for that show.
I am sure she will be missed, being at any job for 17 years is an incredible accomplishment.-

No soul... Current TV needs to watch out too... all these drunken 911 calls your staff posts and caring more about sexy airline girls than women's rights. You too could lose your soul.

Empty-V
get it? -
And Current TV is really getting in touch with the deep issues of our day such as pugs having sex...

TRL is the dumbest f*ckin show ever. Why would anyone watch it?
MTV blows. Period. All it does it teach 10-18 year old girls to dress and act like whores and 10-18 year old boys to dress and act like douchebags.
FUCK MTV, its corporate bullshit, all its anti-intellectualism, superficial trend setting advertisments, and its ignorant activist actions. There's a lot more too... -
I personally do not know her, neither do I have worked with her so I cannot comment on that. I stop watching MTV a long time ago. The issue here is that MTV had a modesty jump start years ago but fell towards many wrong media formats. It is lack of vision and perhaps over pressure from some consulting media groups. It is like to have a bad oriented giant in your hands. The good stuff is out there but it all depends of how you know it, interpreted it, develop and manage it. You are not going to learn that in school, because that has to do with personal life experiences. However, having a Brand Name as "MTV" shooting itself in the foot some many times during these years and leaving so many generations behind, no wonder it become this shallow Music Network that no one wants to bother to watch it anymore. Ok, let us go back to the drawing board.

Well, at least we now know why MTV went to crap around about that time and has continued to be crap. Hopefully they will get someone in there who will turn Music Television back into music television.

What a legacy... a true champion of the banal. She did wonders for furthering our culture of consumerism and iconism.
I wonder who viacom will choose to abuse the "public" airwaves next?-

Once upon a time,
MTV was created for the angst driven kids who got into punk, and the criminal platted ghetto boys who hip hopped- streaming MUSIC, hence the name, and nothing else.
Present day,
anyone watching it might lose brain cells over 'date my old and sad mother' or 'next me, so we can hook up later'
Complete BS.
Jackass is the only show worth watching & maybe Gideon Yago ;)
Wish her the best, and hope whoever comes in next will make some changes.-
