An on-line campaign to stop former prime minister Tony Blair from becoming European Union president is gathering pace long before the job is even created.
The campaign appears to be gathering speed, with over 3,000 "signatures" by Thursday morning, almost the double the number on Tuesday evening. The goal is to get a million online signatures.

Tony Blair, the man who stepped down as Prime Minister in a flurry of anti-Blairism wants to go one up to EU President? Does this make sense?

GB is since ever very sceptical about the EU, they still are not participating in the euro currency ... He may be a smart politician, it seems to me like Luther for pope

European president?? How can this wimp be trusted in the affairs of Europe, when he made such a diabolical
mess of England. A liar,a war criminal!! and definitely
not a person of integrity.

Why shouldn't Tony Blair ever be in a position of governing?
1) The man has only one goal: to go down in History.
2) He has taken part in a thoughtless, revengeful war heavy of consequences in human and international relations.
3) He said not long ago, that God alone will be judge of his action... which clearly means that the mere mortal does not count. (It was also the idea behind absolutism of French kings).
If the man had one little shred of decency left in his moral, he would take responsibility and face his actions as a stateman in front of an International Tribunal.
BUT it will never happen because he has converted to Roman Catholicism, probably thinking that he will get absolution in the shadow of the confessional (well, he's already a good mate to his Holiness Benedict XVI, isn't he?)
His success as a British Premier entirely rested on the fact that he had the winds of change blowing in his sails in 1997... Up until the war, his mandate was seemingly successful but his obsession with his own destiny led him to make the wrong choice when in fact, common sense should have prevailed.
SO WHERE CAN I FIND THE LINK TO THE ONLINE "STOP BLAIR PETITION"?-
