Silver passed away today in LA, after a long bout with brain cancer. Style Wars represents one of the crowning achievements and definitive documents of the emerging, urban underground culture of the early 1980s. It served as THE introduction to graffiti-culture and hip-hop culture for an entire generation. It's legacy and the legacy of Tony Silver will live on. R.I.P.
