The troubled singer may have just had a morale boost after grabbing five grammy awards last night including including record of the year, song of the year and best new artist. Winehouse performed via satellite from London after being denied a visa to the states because of recent drug charges.
Herbie Hancock took home the award for best album and thanked the academy for "breaking the mould", Kanye West grabbed the award for best rap album, best rap song, and best rap solo performance and Justin Timerblake took home the award for best male vocal performance and best dance recording.

I'm so glad that Winehouse was rewarded. Addictive personality and related issues aside, she is a "once in a lifetime" talent, and in my opinion she has raised the bar for female singers pop music tremendously. That girl can sing.

Sadly "shooboie doobie shoob waaa waaa" is all hear when Winehouse sings.
I haven't seen Cuba Gooding looking so uncomfortable since he was in "Snow Dogs" -
This may the most controversial thing I've ever written on current... I think Winehouse sucks. Maybe it was the quality of the recording offered on YouTube, but she sounds flat, and stoned. For some drugs and craziness help a performance, but for her it is cliche and trite.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH OCANADA. the grammys are a joke.....and so is the amy whinehouse paraphernalia...but, whatever, great music will live forever and events like the grammys or oscars or whatever are just more WEAPONS OF MASSS DISTRACTION!!!
