  • I posted the same Brave New Film.

Let's forward this movie on our own to as many people as we can.

We really DO need to "do something".

  • Military Losses, 1980 thru 2007
    http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf)

As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is, consider the following statistics:

The annual fatalities of military members while actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2006:

    1980 ......... 2,392 (Carter Year)

    1981 .......... 2,380 (Reagan Year)
    1984 .......... 1,999 (Reagan Year
    1988 .......... 1,819 (Reagan Year)

    1989 .......... 1,636 (George H W Year)
    1990 .......... 1,508 (George H W Year)
    1991 .......... 1,787 (George H W Year)
    1992 .......... 1,293 (George H W Year)

    1993 .......... 1,213 (Clinton Year)
    1994 .......... 1,075 (Clinton Year)
    1995 .......... 2,465 (Clinton Year)
    1996 .......... 2,318 (Clinton Year)
    1997 ............. 817 (Clinton Year)
    1998 .......... 2,252 (Clinton Year)
    1999 .......... 1,984 (Clinton Year)
    2000 .......... 1,983 (Clinton Year)

    Clinton years (1993-2000): 14,000 deaths

    2001 ............. 890 (George W Year)
    2002 .......... 1,007 (George W Year)
    2003 .......... 1,410 (George W Year)
    2004 .......... 1,887 (George W Year)
    2005 ............. 919 (George W Year)
    2006.............. 920 (George W Year)
    2007.............. 899 (George W Year)

    George W years (2001-2006): 7,932 deaths

These figures mean that the loss from the two latest conflicts in the Middle East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during Bill Clinton's presidency; when America wasn't even involved in a war!

    Race in general population:
    European descent (White) ............... 69.12%
    Hispanic ............................................ 12.5%
    Black ................................................. 12.3%
    Asian ................................................... 3.7%
    Native American .................................. 1.0%
    Other .................................................. 2.6%

Now... here are the fatalities by Race; over the past three years in Iraqi Freedom:
    European descent (white) ................ 74.31%
    Hispanic ........................................... 10.74%
    Black ................................................ 9.67%
    Asian ................................................. 1.81%
    Native American ................................ 1.09%
    Other ................................................ 0.33%

(These statistics are published by Congressional Research Service, and they may be confirmed by anyone at:

  • God, you went to a lot of trouble to prove you could misrepresent how the statistics actually affect American soldiers, their families and the countries we attack.

Add up those 20,000 PLUS U.S. soldiers maimed for life and tell me you don't understand the relevance because they were treated in the newest state-of-the-art field hospitals that weren't set up or available and not nearly as well-staffed or as modernized when we went into places like Bosnia.

Nice try at minimizing the awful toll Bush's illegal and immoral war has taken on not only the soldiers and their families but the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi dead, Sport!

Nice to see another mindless Neo-Con around here spouting pro-Bush rhetoric even if it is misleading.

Tell us how many innocent foreign citizens Clinton killed and how many U.S. Soldiers were maimed for life, pal!

Oh yeah, nice skip over 5 of the Reagan years, Mr. Wizard.

This post ( http://current.com/items/88870884_a_plan_to_end_the_war... ) not only addresses more of the problem but also offers a sensible way to bring the troops home

    ObiaMan,

Actually, no, I'm not a Republican.

And thank you for proving my point. You're one of the few that caught it.

Don't just believe anything and everything you hear, see, and/or posted in/on any form of media. Even if you think it helps your cause(s). ALWAYS RESEARCH AND VERIFY EVERYTHING VERY, VERY CLOSELY.

I even helped you this time by giving you some of the research material.

This posting was from an email going around. And many would have just believed it without any research. Especially if it came from a friend, family member, or organization with similar views as the reader.

By the way ObiaMan, I'm a Conservative that believes in the War on Terror. Even the terror of our own government. But I'm still very proud to be an American. I just wish my fellow Americans would open their eyes and see the bigger picture.
  • There IS no "War on Terror". It is only a war FOR oil and control of territory in the Middle East.

BTW, the label of "conservative" also fails to describe those who elected the Neo-Cons in control of the government under the Bush Administration.

They are actually the most fiscally liberal voters in the history of this nation but they DO represent the most arrogant sector of elitists in recent history.

I'm wondering if anyone saw the absolutely staggering ratio of deaths to total injuries? If so, you must have noted its exponential growth since WWII?

It simply proves that Bush has put a bigger percentage of American soldiers in wheel chairs when compared to those killed than any other American president.

He should be rotting in one of those foreign gulags awaiting trial for War Crimes without the possibility of appeal.
