Current International: Vietnam can be described as the bike capital of the world. For tourists, riding a cyclo is a vital Vietnamese experience. For expatriates, having a set of wheels can help cultural integration; but for the Vietnamese, it's *essential.* From pedal to gasÂ…former Ho Chi Minh city residents Christine Buckley and Cathy L. Hue take us on a ride to show Vietnam's reliance on wheels and its impact on the road to economic recovery as one of today's fastest growing countries.

I really enjoyed this piece - I can totally empathize with the sentiments of the reporter saying she felt weird taking one of the cyclo rides, but then...if too many of us feel this way, these guys don't eat!

Great piece. I loved hearing the American woman speaking Vietnamese.
I was there in 95'. There was some major development going on at that time. I would love to go back to see the changes.-

This was a great piece. It's enjoyable to watch features that show the humanity of Vietnam and other nations. Hopefully, future generations of Vietnamese citizens won't have to endure the many conflicts that their forefathers and mothers went through.

I enjoyed watchin this on TV, it was great pod. Awesome skills to be able to speak a second (or 3rd) language.
I love bicycle articles and I enjoyed the interviews and interaction with the locals. thanx -
I live in Chico, CA and some would say besides Davis its one of the friendliest biking towns in America. Although don't believe enough people bike here. I m not sure what to do in order to persuade then to bike either. Obviously its good for your health and the Environment. But how do you separate a society from there CAR? Please let me know.
Love and peace,
Sammey-

Nice pod!
But if you ever go there help them by paying what they really deserve for doing such a hard work and have a taste of what is like to cyclo somebody around you take the guy for a ride like I did. -
It's daunting to see all those moterbikes. I enjoyed this story. I feel bad that those who drive the cyclos don't earn more money, come on Americans, we can do better than a dollar.
