Some scary stats pulled from this piece:
According to the Stalking Resource Center, one million women are stalked in the U.S. every year. In two-thirds of the cases where a female victim asks for a police protective order, that order is violated.
One third of female murder victims are killed by an intimate partner (as opposed to about 3 percent of male victims). Of these, 76 percent had been stalked by the partner in the year prior to their murder. Murder ranks second (after accidents) as the leading cause of death among young women.
Ladies, take note, take heart, be safe!

Around my first day of work, a female coworker gaily asked me if I was ready to "start being followed home!" She was speaking from experience. I don't mean to sound paranoid, but this article doesn't really help my nerves.

Good article.
The thing is these people give themselves away at some point, if you are observant.
There should be a study / personality profile or the FBI should release their personality profile to educate people of the signs and signals all is not well in Denmark.
Since it is becoming increasingly clear - actually like no duh!, that these shooters are on anti-depressants, we need to realize that although one or some of the symptoms are being treated, the underlying problem still exists.
I'd like to know if the rate of stalking has increased over the last 50 years or so to see if there is a correlation between stalkers and if they were raised by a single parent and if so of which sex, if they were raised by both parents but who worked a lot, etc.
Don't be paranoid women, just be cautious, learn self defense, carry pepper spray and train yourself not to submit when confronted. People who victimize others, generally look for people they feel confident they will succeed with, a victim in other words. Don't be a victim.
