I am now a lesbian, and my Tivo ONLY records the L word.

Great comments - nice to see straight women appreciate the trials and tribulations of lebians (I agree the dialogues and plots of these shows are no Emmy/Golden Globe materials, but at minimum, they expose some GLBT issues to the wider community). Should also check out the V-Monologue. Pretty cool.

You're just as gorgeous as anyone on the L word, and far more eloquent.

Beautiful lesbian women have been celebrated on the internet for years now. Google it! It is nice of Showtime to finally get in on the game. L Word to your mother!
-
I love that show and share the same exact opinions and views with you. It's refreshing and I'm surprised I liked it only because I don't really like any type of series. But the cultural celebration is really intruiging and great.

ooh, agreed, you are hot yourself. as for the L word, they pretty much only have lipstick lesbians on the show, and that doesn't really put into account the rest of the lesbians(butch, boi, andro, femme, but not super femme, and what have you). not to mention that these are strickly LA lesbians as opposed to NY, SF, Oakland, or wherever else. I'm still glad that showtime has this show, just so that people can see some of the issues the gay community has to deal with. although we have come a long way, coming out and being gay is still hard.

Watching the new L Word as we speak - all's I can say is: lesbian Turkish oil-wrestling.-

uh,thanks for plugging the show, i guess. it's clear that you don't really get it or care to. so then it is also safe to say that the girl on girl action is the only real reason you watch and recommend it. (that makes me laugh) you did a good job sounding like you really knew what you were talking about though. enjoy the rest of the season, dear.

Oh, the L Word. I wanted to love the show so much (and I still watch when I can) but I wish they would have a more varied cast of characters. The show is not at all a realistic depictions of lesbians (at least none that I've met!)--what about the butch or androgynous women? And they can't even keep track of their own storylines (does anyone remember that Alice is supposedly bisexual? No? Oops.).
-
tasha was their attempt at a butch woman last season.
max, the transgendered type. and i'd say shane is as androgynous as they'll get. she did go thru a time when some dudes were trying to pick her up in the first or second season. and Alice...she's a hot mess. it's television drama. completely off the wall. back for a 6th season!!-
