In the largest beef recall in history, most of the beef has probably been eaten. Cows at Westland/Hallmark Meat Packing Company, were horribly treated. Officials are concerned about cows with Mad Cow disease and other dangerous abnormalities entering the food supply. The recall dates back to 2/1/2006. So if you have some very old beef in your freezer, you have at least two reasons not to eat it.

You don't have to be vegetarian to demand humane treatment of farm animals. Safeway stores is taking a good first step...

you know the main reason i am a vegetarian is because of the way animals are treated in the meat industry, but that is not what really bugs me. It's that this low grade meat is being fed in schools and to our children. Aren't we supposed to be concerned about the nutritional value of the food we feed our kids.
