Do I vote.. and WHY

Why vote? Because decisions are made by those who show up. Yes, the electoral college is a flawed system--but not voting only makes the problem worse. Apathy is the worst enemy of a democracy, and the reality is that not voting isn't going get anyone's attention.

In fact, the current administration would probably appreciate it quite a bit if people didn't vote out of protest, since higher voter turnout traditionally favors Democrats.

That being said, I do think the electoral college would be a much better system if votes were allocated on a proportional basis rather than a plurality system.

Ok, what about the electoral college taking popular opinion into account? If you don't vote, then your opinion won't be taken into account. If you're opinion isn't taken into account, you don't have a say. Yeah, it's an imperfect system, but that's why you work to improve things instead of just dropping out of the game altogether. I vote and personally don't have a problem with the electoral college. In fact, I may have more confidence in the electoral college's ability to vet candidates than someone who doesn't know the difference between "aloud" and "allowed." But maybe that's what our founding fathers had in mind.

Now that you mention it, I do sew, and I still find politics at least as interesting, if not equally useful.

Anyway, isn't media or community hype what extolls or damns any individual or profession? I can't name one that isn't. Can you? I think it's just a fact of life, and the game is to read between the lines.

I personally like Obama, but don't think McCain's that bad. I like to read my news rather than watch semi-star news anchors grasp for ratings, but that's personal preference.

I vote zero-confidence in the current president,, and all those running for president.

Actions speak louder than words..
and their actions are very poor.
I vote for Oprah Winfrey... at least she can be trusted,, is nice,, and is smart.
And she has REAL freinds,, and is loved world wide.

What you forgot to ask is,, who do they work for?
President Bush works for SKULL AND BONES.
you need to look into that.

and you need to start watching real news,, not what is on your television set or the AOL front page.
