And who are these people who like the Red Hot Chili Peppers? They sell out stadium tour after stadium tour, and shoot to no.1 with every album...but I've never met anyone who actually likes them... :-)

    Oh god... Nickelback...
I listen to red hot chili peppers. Not really their newer stuff. But John Frusciante has excellent solo stuff that isn't anything like the pepper's stuff.

Nickelback are dire but Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't terrible. I used to quite like their Californication album when it came out.

Anthony Kiedis's memoir 'Scar Tissue' is a really good read, even for people who wouldn't really describe themselves as active fans of the band.

In fact, thinking about it, 'By The Way' is a good song. Good video too.

chilli peppers are awesome actually, especially their old shit like freaky styley and especially californication, just because a band is on the radio doesnt mean they suck, youre just ignorant and trying to stay out of the mainstream thinking thats the cool thing to do. flea and frusciati are true innovators and the whole band is one of the only funk acts left. and yea nickelback sucks, theyre popular because the record labels have figured out the right formula to prick up white trash ears. but just becuase a band is popular and gets radio play doesnt mean they suck, if you think that is so you must think that of pink floyd, or the beatles, or zeppelin, youre just ignorant, maybe you should brush up on your knowledge of good music before you shit out your mouth. also good that gets airplay but not quite underground would be alice in chains, janes addiction, rage against the machine, tool, so on and so on. moron.

It seems fair enough for someone to not like the Chilis, in the same way that others don't like Nickelback...

I think that you are on the right track.
    This would explain a lot.

hmm. nope, sorry i know good music and chilli peppers are great (every album except for one hot minute). Also we have no great music "rags"(? magazines im assuming) spin, rolling stone, all of them are just people like the author of this topic, ignorant, putting up a front, trying to stay one step ahead and actually making up the the popular majority that have no true taste or ear for passion, and follow fassion trends like little sheep. I bet youre into indie arent you mr author? youre the type of person that goes to see a funny movie and looks around at everyone else to see if you should laugh or not

besides, he didnt say that he disliked the chilli peppers, he said they are crap music, prominently displaying his ignorance. There are great bands out there whose talent I can recognize and still dislike. for instance I dislike the who, but I know for a fact that they are anything but crap music. now, if he would have said crap music like nickelback and fallout boy, then I would have thought, now here's a person with the ability to discern.
