- US Election Fever Abroad (9)
An American in Paris, Zachary felt an overwhelming urge to do something this election. Having done nothing four years ago, this time he took a month off to volunteer for the campaign in the U.S. Having seen firsthand the election fever there, he couldn't imagine such a fever could exist abroad. But in this 21st century, Zachary had hope. Arriving back in Paris post-Super Tuesday, Zachary took his friends Gregoire and Arnaud at Honkytonk Films to the streets with him to see whether this cosmopolitan city had caught the U.S. Election Mania.
So here is a rough-cut we made for current.tv collective journalism assignment on the US election fever abroad.

I can't believe that most oof the time, we show the world wrong and vote for who they don't like, just to persist in our arrogance. I hope the french are right on this one, and Obama does get the presidency

What I think is amazing is how the normally very critical French are actually believing in something American. When voters see how big an image footprint the U.S. Presidency leaves abroad and how people all over the world ALSO want to believe in their American dream, it inspires votes less out of fear (I tend to think the "arrogance" is a mask for fear and lack of mutual understanding) and more out of what they actually believe in. Thanks!
