This was the first Surveillance Satellite that went totally out of service in the early stages of flight. Had it been
otherwise, The flight system would have steered the "tool" into the ocean when it finished the tour of operation's. I appreciate the response of the NAVY in managing the cleanup job successfully. In this instance, it is hoped that this action will be essential observed as the responsible results of a thirty day effort by many talented professionals in performing a much needed cleanup procedure.-

And there probably wasn't ever a "spy" satellite with "toxic fuel" -- just a target sent up to test the US ability to shoot down any object in geosynchronous orbit. The whole "spy" moniker is just distraction, misdirection. And by mixing in the "toxic fuel" talking point ad infinitum, they have people thinking they should thank the USN for keeping them safe -- from a non-existent threat. (Everyone together, "Baaa" [or insert your favorite sheep noise here].)

So, that's what I think it was: a test to see if the USN can do it from sea -- no spy satellite, no spoon. And the next one will be from a plane just beneath the Mesosphere boundary... or at least that's my theory du jour. Tomorrow, we'll see...

This was a really sweet opportunity for my money ...& yours, to show everyone with a TV that we can shoot down satellites with ease. i think that this capability has been in the hands of this "holy democracy" for years. But like any animal when threatened, posture...posture. Make yourself look big & tough. Being a cold war kid it's scary being on this side of things. You can't stop progress & you can't stop the love of power. I wish I could hide forever, but my mouth is too big!!
