  • To me, people who technically have autism technically are gods. Lovely video.

  • Great cinematography, great music, great editing. Well-done pod. I'm interested in learning more about a person with autism and how they view the world. Good job. Can't wait to see what's next for you Kathe!

  • My first serious girlfriend was a recovering autistic. I would never have known had she not told me. Its so sad and so common but there is hope.

  • I work with a child with autism who has been included in a general ed classroom. Due to laws that require students with special needs to be in the least restrictive environment, there are more chances for non-special needs kids to learn that people are different. It makes me sad to know that kids (even older ones) are still so cruel. http://www.weac.org/resource/june96/speced.htm This is a link to information about the inclusion policy.

  • This is a great video, very simple and yet it draws you in.
  • Incredibly rendered. Beautiful, poignantly minimalistic. What a profound reminder to treat everyone with dignity, respect and love; to be kind, to have compassion and understanding. At the end of the day, everyone has something to teach you. Everyone.

  • My experience teaching gymnastics to children with autism has truly blown me away. I find them to be no different than the other children and actually have an affinity towards them for how well they are able to take instruction and criticism. This video captures the characters not only within the context of their condition but also within the context of how they fit in with their families and society. Great job!
  • Everything about this is great-the stories, perspective, video, and music!

  • As someone who knows absolutely nothing about autisim, I found the film informative and well put together. It was very interesting hearing the young adults talk about themselves and how they cope. Thanks for the insights.

  • It's sad to know that autism has a stigma that goes along with it. just like one of the young adults stated, he has heard people being jerks and saying that they are retards. as a community and a society we need to be more understanding of the people around us, and that there are many varying degrees of autism. as we saw in the pod, these young adults are intelligent, fairly normal and only lack some social and behavioral abilities.

  • Really well done, these kids were really something special. Hope this pod makes more people aware of how autism affects the persons ability to communicate with the rest of the world. Should make people more understanding of the condition, and hopefully more charitable towards it as well.

  • Love the video. Good job Kathe. Some people are oblivious to autism, what a great way to help them understand it.

  • I like the informative aspect of this pod. It shins light on the different conditions of autism, steering away from any generalized image of it. I was especially moved by Lisa and her family because there was so much that reminded me of one of my family friends. Even though she had downs syndrome, which is totally different disability, she shared the same loving spirit that Lisa has. As Lisa's father was talking about her future and eventually started to break down over it, it reminded me of how my parents and I would wonder how family friend was going to get along as an adult. Very well executed and the music added just the right touch.

  • Loved the Autism show. So glad you are putting the information out there. My son, Andrew Kramer, is currently living with Joey in an apartment on campus at UCLA. They are both attending the brand new UCLA Pathway program through extension. A 2 year program designed for special needs people with the college experience. www.healthy-communications.com

  • I really like this pod. I like the range of interviews and stories that came across. I would have liked to have seen all of them in in their daily life as well as sit down interviews, but it still was great!

  • I love this piece.
Thank you so much, Kathe for all your work and the time you put in to complete this wonderful video.
I love Kate and her friends and every moment I spend with them.
I'm from Japan and I have noticed the lack of suppot and many issues Japan has with people with special needs.
I hope one day I can help accomplish a much better world and society in Japan for the people with special needs and for the family.
    You inspired me a lot.

    Thank you,Kathe.

  • Great portrayal of folks with autism as real people without the typical pity or schmaltze.

  • Fabulous video. I work with children on the autism spectrum. They are some of the most intelligent people I know and I learn from them every day. I think autism is very misunderstood. Thank you so, your video is very real. I applaud you. :)
  • A compelling look at what autism is...... I was very moved by this video!
