  • I've been hearing a whole hell of a lot (here in Montreal) about Akron/Family. Good introduction video to the core of the band, makes me want to listen to the records!

  • Be sure to check them out on the festival circuit this spring and summer @ SXSW, Coachella and High Sierra, where their revolving line-up will include SF's own the Dodos and the bros from Megafaun.

Special thanks to everyone who contributed in the making this piece: Seth, Dana, Miles, the guys from Megafaun, Chris F., Tom G., Jamie P., and James M. Holla! Couldn't have done it without y'all.

  • The footage was beautiful, the edit was slick, and I really like the commentary on punk rock/ diy ethic. Good work Dan, thanks for the link.

  • In this highly rampant and ever changing world of media format, artist's and their music have the tendency to be muddled, plasticized, and lost in digitization and shiny new mp3 players. I get excited when bands like Akron Family never forget or underestimate the beauty of tangible quality and personality in music and the seemingly forgotten responsibility that artists have to maintain a sense of ethics and soul. Long live this mentality and long live Akron Family!
