  • This picture shows that the injury is to the ankle not the leg. Don't click unless you can deal with broken bones/ankles...

  • And finally the video. I'm not sure why I'm offering you the graphic details, but I suppose if you're an Arsenal fan you'll probably want to know if Eduardo has any chance of making a comeback.

    I'll let you decide...

  • It's a double compound fracture. If he ever plays again..it'll be a long time. I'm not a doctor but I've broken bones. He had surgery too. So think about the time to recover from the surgery then the broken bones itself...plus he's going to have to go through rehab to learn to walk again and then there's learning to play again. Hopefully he'll be back in the future...As for the punishment to Taylor. I saw a picture where Eduardo is on the ground screaming in agony [I think its from Arseblogger.com] and Taylor seemed to be smiling. I dunno if he wanted to injure him like that...but he took Eduardo's foot off! He needs to be banned for longer than 3 games. Eduardo was too quick for him...but that does not make it ok for Taylor to attempt to tackle someone like that. It was 3 minutes into the game...Not even like Birmingham was down and it was a close game and they needed to be aggressive. Bottom line: It was a disgraceful challenge and the culpit should be penalize more than just a red card.

  • After the tackle, it took 18 minutes for eduardo to get inside the hospital and start receiving help. In the ambulance the paramedic said in a sky sports interview: "(eduardo) refused morphine and actually looked quite comfortable."

im a Man Utd fan, but after hearing that about Eduardo, i think he is the man! Also in that same sky sports report, they interviewed one of the surgeons who examined Da Silva. He said because of the quick transition from field to hospital bed he was able to save a lot of the soft tissue and muscle around the ankle.

Yea, Eduardo was quicker (he flicked the ball on after Martin Taylor had already gone for the slide tackle) But if you see photos of the tackle it looks horrible. Taylor hits him cleats up in the dead center of the shin, since all his weight was on that foot at the moment of impact, it literally amputated the foot. Poor form Taylor
