A Kansas City lawyer and legend in civil rights activity, Austin F. Shute, passed away recently and his memory is being remembered well during this African American History month. He was a continual champion for equal rights and was instrunmental in allowing African-Americans into the Kansas City Bar chapter and other establishments around the Kansas City metro. Most notably, he was the main lawyer for the Black Panthers in the 1960's.
