Dizzee danced, Arctics won, Klaxons raved: It was the NME Awards!

The Arctic Monkeys won Best British Band, Best Video and Best Track for their song 'Fluorescent Adolescent' at this year's NME Awards as well as also scooping Best British Band. The group headed the contenders for this year's NME Awards with seven nominations.
This year's NME Awards haven't been finished long but what a show! Dizzee Rascal wowed the audience with a surprise performance, the Klaxons kicked off the event with a raucous introduction and Smiths legend Johnny Marr joined The Cribs on stage for a truly monumental set. Other performances came from a laser-toting Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and this year's Godlike Geniuses Manic Street Preachers.

Best TV Show - The Mighty Boosh
Best Album: Klaxons - 'Myths Of The Near Future'

I'm looking forward to seeing the laser toting Bloc Party, their live performances are always nothing short of spectacular, bashing out their indie beats with more passion than a passion fruit...Check the youtube link for one of their sold out gigs in Brighton.
I wonder who'll take the Best Solo award, will it be the less drug-riddled Amy Winehouse that gets the NME seal of approval or will they shun her like her own drug habits and pass it onto one of the other, less-publicised, artists. Jamie T, Kate Nash and Jack Penate are all up for it, who would get your vote? -
we are scientists aren't showing up? Oh well. But Kate Nash would definitely get my vote. She's like Regina Spektor and Lily Allen all in one and her songs are funny and cute. She should get some love!

I just saw that Pete Doherty is nominated in both the best dressed and the worst dressed categories...
Fair play he's supposedly knocked his 'antics' on the head, but if he wins best dressed male, you can catch me here tomorrow on a webcam wearing a pink tutu! -
the thing about the klaxons - i love the album but i saw them in Benicassim over the summer and it was no good. they deserve the award but i'm hoping when i see them next they're better live.
