Wikileaks ran into legal trouble when they released a document which seemed to imply that a Swiss bank in the Cayman Islands was helping customers to launder money. The banks began a legal battle to have the site shut down, which was achieved in a round about fashion when the wikileaks domain was blocked in the U.S. Fans of the website quickly spread the IP of the website which allowed users to access it without the domain.
The judge in charge of the case seems to have backtracked and said the case concerned "very important issues" and "the court does not want to be a part of any order that is not constitutional." And with that, at 5pm Pacific time, Wikileaks was back in action in the US.

These are strange times indeed...looks like more than the educational, cultural and legal systems are gonna have to get their heads around digital transmission of media, and the changes and freedoms it's brought to exposing corporate fraud and misdemeanors.
If you haven't had a chance to watch this pod yet, it's well worth checking out. A riff on the revisions to our everyday cultural dialectic, lovingly crafted!

I'm glad to see Wikileaks back. I never knew anything about it before this, or that it even existed. This little debacle has served to empower that which they sought to destroy - but isn't that always the case!? I mean really!
Cool riff Mischabarrett.

Other than the perhaps the previous flippant comment, it is apparent that everyone realizes the importance of a truthful source of information that is completely free of censorship.
As MM said, "Sometimes we win one."
Let's make SURE the trend is not impeded further by Bush, Cheney or the other Neo-Con hijackers of our constitution who want to decrease Net Neutrality.

they fear exposure...it's that simple and this proves it! However, this is half the battle...the other half being able to get more humans, capable of critical thinking, to actually take the initiative and search for truth instead of being lullabied and pacified by murdochvision.
