Got my WorldCom settlement -- what should I buy first?
Gotta love it. I lost a lot of money in WorldCom, but the lawyers came to the rescue with a class action settlement. My reward for filling out all the paperwork? a whopping $5.90

I felt a lot better when I just blamed myself for a bad investment decision :)

  • The Lawyers have to be paid. Class action suits should be illegal. It's just a way to cheat the people out of any right to sue.

  • Everybody says class action suits should be illegal until they get sued by some money grubbing, uncaring, bully conglomerate. The whole point of law suits, particularly when they affect someone's health, is to punish the companies that screwed them in the first place. The only way to do that is to cripple them financially. Granted, people sue for stupidity these days, but class action suits usually have real merit. Everybody hates lawyers until they need one.
